Claudia Hoffmann
Claudia Hoffmann studierte moderne Violine mit Orchester- und Lehrdiplom (1991)
in Freiburg im Brsg sowie Alte Musik/historische Violine in Strassbourg, Den Haag und Basel. In Den Haag schloss sie 1997 mit Konzertdiplom Barockvioline ab.
Ihre Konzertauftritte in der Alten Musik beinhalten die Thüringer Bachwochen, Rheingau Musikfestival, Barockfestspiele Arolsen, Kultursommer Nordhessen, Ekhof Festival Gotha, Festival Mitte Europa, Tavistock Festival (UK), Gruyères Festival (CH), Festival Bach de Lausanne, Landshuter Hofmusiktage.
CD Aufnahmen: Violinsonaten von Pandolfi Mealli, Ersteinspielung der Violinsonaten von Elisabeth-Claude Jacquet de la Guerre, „Spirit meets pleasure – John come kiss me now“ mit englischer Musik aus „the Dancing Master“ und Werken von Matthew Locke.
Intensive Beschäftigung mit der Wirkung verschiedener Instrumente und Klänge sammelte sie in ihrer langjährigen Tätigkeit als freiberufliche Musikerin auch ausserhalb der Klassik in
der Arbeit mit improvisierter Musik: Klangmeditationen, Musik für intuitiven Tanz, live Musik für Trancetanz in Zusammenarbeit mit Gudrun Fischer, Freiburg.
Von 2004 - 2008 hat Claudia Hoffmann in Cornwall (Südwestengland) gelebt. Dort hat sie sich mit der dortigen cornischen und der irischen Folklore beschäftigt, in Sessions und mit verschiedenen Bands gespielt. Mit der Band "Naked Feet" aus Penzance ist sie zweifache Preisträgerin des "PanCeltic Festival Irland" 2003.
Babett Niclas
Babett Niclas started to learn the Violin when she was 5 years old. 10 years later lessons in Harp, piano were added. After her Abitur (A levels) she studied music recording and production in Düsseldorf for one year. Since then she has been studying music and german at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Leipzig.
Babett’s harp teachers were i.a. Ruth Rojahn, Fabiana Trani, Cornelia Smaczny and Ursula Heins. She also graduates in teaching Improvisation with Tilo Augsten and teaching musictheory and solfége with Ipke Starke. Babett is focussed on early and contemporary music, free improvisation and world music. As part of different ensembles, she plays concerts in Germany, Switzerland, UK and Poland. Babett studied at the Royale Conservatoire of Scotland in Glasgow concert harp with Sharron Griffiths and Pippa Tunnell and clarsach with Heather Downy for six months.
She got several scholarships by the Free State of Bavaria and has been awarded a scholarship for excellent achievements and social political honorary activities since 2013 by Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung.
